Mookie Betts suffers similar fate as NFL WR when ground jars ball loose image

Like the NFL, baseball has a thing about completing the catch all the way to the ground. Red Sox center fielder Mookie Betts learned that the hard way Tuesday night.

Betts tracked down Jose Abreu's drive at the warning track, only to flip over the wall and drop the ball after landing in Boston's bullpen. No catch, the umpires ruled after a replay review. Home run for Abreu.

Commence Dez Bryant/Calvin Johnson jokes. Heck, throw in a few "baseball move" cracks as well.

The worst part for Betts is that he may have suffered a concussion when he fell into the 'pen.
