Yankees prospect turns unreal double play leaving MLB fans astounded image

New York Yankees infield prospect Roc Riggio is an early candidate for the play of the year after he turned an incredible double play Thursday night.

In the night game between the High-A Hudson Valley Renegades and the Aberdeen Ironbirds (Orioles), Riggio turned a double play that was truly astounding.

Going back on a shallow blooper to center field from shortstop with a runner on second, Riggio made an incredible over-the-shoulder catch. That's an impressive feat in its own right.

After tripping over his center field teammate, Riggio had the instincts to get the ball in quickly to second base in an attempt for the double play.

Essentially making a no-look throw while breaking his fall, Riggio's throw was an incredible one-hop to the Renegade's first baseman, who was covering second base after initially getting to his spot as the cut-off man for a potential play at the plate.

Suffice it to say, MLB fans were astounded.

Riggio is the No. 18 prospect in the Yankees organization.
