Miller Park hosted its longest game ever Saturday, and the host team won it. The Brewers managed to top the Mets 4-3 in 18 innings.

Ryan Braun sealed the deal for Milwaukee with a two-run, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 18th after the Mets had taken a one-run lead in the top of the inning.

The left fielder totaled a career-high six hits in eight at-bats in the contest.

Mets rookie first baseman Pete Alonso hit the game's only home run, a game-tying solo shot in the ninth inning. He finished with two hits.

The Brewers (19-16) have won the first two games of their weekend series with the Mets (16-17). They sit in third place in the NL Central. New York is third in the NL East.

Michael Chavis belted two home runs in the Red Sox's 15-2 drubbing of the White Sox.

Alex Bregman hit two home runs in the Astros' 14-2 win over the Angels in Monterrey, Mexico.

Manny Machado sent two balls sailing over the fence against the Dodgers in the Padres' 7-6 loss.

Duds of the Night

Dee Gordon was hitless in four at-bats in the Mariners' 5-4 loss to the Indians.

Jorge Polanco didn't get a hit in five at-bats as his Twins topped the Yankees 7-3.

Highlight

Giants center fielder Kevin Pillar scaled a wall to save a home run.

What's Next?

Dodgers (22-13) at Padres (18-16), 4:10 p.m. ET — Los Angeles held off San Diego on Saturday despite those Machado home runs. The Dodgers sit atop the NL West but the Padres are just 3 1/2 games back.
