MLB trade rumors: Talks for Reds All-Star Todd Frazier intensifying image

THE RUMOR: Trade talks involving Reds third baseman Todd Frazier are beginning to heat up with the White Sox and Indians believed to be the "most heavily involved."

REPORTED BY: CBS Sports' Jon Heyman

THE DETAILS: The Nationals, Royals, Dodgers, Rangers and Angels are among teams believed to have some involvement or interest in the All-Star and could use Frazier at third base, first, outfield or designated hitter.

LAST SEASON: The Home Run Derby winner was absolutely on fire in the first half of the season before falling off in the second half to the tune of a .664 OPS after the All-Star break. He still finished with 35 homers, 89 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 157 games.

OUR TAKE: With the Reds in full rebuilding mode, Frazier is a hot commodity thanks to his power and the fact he is due only $7.5 million in 2016 and isn't a free agent until 2018. He has played in 150 or more games the past three seasons and is considered a good clubhouse presence. Frazier staying in the state of Ohio makes the most sense as the Indians are in desperate need of a power bat and can't afford another slow start, especially with Michael Brantley on the shelf until possibly June.

With the departure of Alex Gordon and Alex Rios in free agency, the defending World Series champion Royals are left with Jarrod Dyson and Paulo Orlando in the corner outfield spots. They are in desperate need of an outfielder, as are the Angels and White Sox, who are willing to part ways with Avisail Garcia.

The Dodgers must make a winter move after missing out on Aroldis Chapman and Zack Greinke and need to find a way to deal Carl Crawford and Andre Ethier, although they will likely have to send cash in potential trades of both players.
