Another day, another Tigers trade rumor.
The latest in a long line of speculative "discussions" came Wednesday as MLB Network reported that the Tigers and Dodgers have been in contact about Detroit second baseman Ian Kinsler.

Kinsler, 34, is a four-time All-Star and 2016 Gold Glove winner. Detroit is said to be in the market for young talent with the likes of Kinsler, Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander and J.D. Martinez all on the trading block.
In fact, on Tuesday, Martinez was rumored to be potentially on the move to the Giants. No further news has emerged from that situation.

According to the latest Kinsler rumor, the Tigers are interested in Dodgers prospect Cody Bellinger. The 6-4 first baseman/outfielder has a career .267/.349/.494 slash line with 60 home runs in 343 minor-league games.
The Dodgers have also shown interest in Verlander, and the Astros have been said to be targeting Cabrera — though that rumor has been quelled in recent weeks.
The Tigers decimated their farm system while trying to win a World Series over the past few seasons, spending big on top free agents who cost them draft picks. Now, with a litany of large contracts on aging stars, they are trying to reverse course and build for the future.
