The Braves are trying to add at the deadline, but in ways that may be surprising.
Atlanta has shown interest in Reds outfielder Yasiel Puig, according to a report from MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
Puig would be a rental since he is a free agent after the season.
Braves have shown some interest in Yasiel Puig, one of many OF available. They do not, however, appear engaged on Reyes, Castellanos, Dyson or Peralta.

It may surprise some people that the Braves would pursue an outfielder with Ronald Acuna Jr., Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis in the outfield, but Markakis suffered a wrist injury in recent days, so this interest may indicate that he may be out for a little while at least.
Puig is in the middle of a strong season as he is batting .255 with 22 home runs and 60 RBIs, but the Reds have reportedly been kicking around the idea of dealing Puig, who might not sign with the team in the offseason.
The Braves have several other needs at the deadline, including starting pitching and the bullpen. The team is in search of at least one reliever as they continue to struggle after their starters.
Tuesday was a perfect example as Chad Sobotka gave up a grand slam to Anthony Rendon in relief, which proved to be the difference in the game.
