The New York Yankees are expected to be buyers at the MLB Trade Deadline with a focus on adding to the corner infield positions.
In listing the potential fits for some of the top candidates to be traded, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com had the Yankees among the top landing spots for Chicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn—the No. 3 overall pick from the 2019 MLB Draft.
The Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners also were mentioned as potential fits for Vaughn at the deadline.

It would be an interesting move for the Yankees to add Vaughn before the July 30 deadline. He's 26 years old and arbitration-eligible through the 2026 season.
Vaughn has a career .726 OPS and despite a slow start, he's been hitting much better over the last month-and-a-half.
In 38 games since May 8, Vaughn is hitting .293 with nine home runs, 28 RBI and a .858 OPS in 160 plate appearances.
Vaughn doesn't offer much as a defender, but he has experience playing both third and first base. He's solely played the latter in 2024.
With the trade deadline just over a month away, Vaughn may be a name to keep an eye on if the Yankees feel the need to add some younger pop to the lineup.
