MLB trade deadline rumors: Live blog, updates image

Baseball's annual non-waiver trade deadline day was particularly crazy this year.

We did our best to keep you updated with all of the rumors and deals as they happened, so scroll through and catch up on what you might have missed.

— Just when you thought the trade news had stopped ...

— And the Mets bring back a familiar face

— Wait, wait, wait. Rays trades keep rolling in ...

— Giants land Matt Moore at the deadline

That's a huge haul for the Rays. Wow.

— And one more move for the Yankees

— The Rangers didn't just get Lucroy, it appears.

Jeffress is Milwaukee's closer. He has a 2.22 ERA, is 27-for-28 in save opportunities and is under club control through 2019.

— Cubs add yet another bullpen piece.

— And now, for the "wait, what?" portion of the day

The Twins have the AL's worst record.

— The Lucroy dominoes have finally fallen

— And boom goes the Bruce

— Blue Jays make a couple pitching moves

— Mets might finally have landed Jay Bruce

— Mets out on Lucroy, apparently

— Indians DFA Juan Uribe, Mets fans everywhere dream of reunion

Uribe has struggled mightily this year (.206 average in 73 games), but injuried mean the Mets are kinda desperate on the infield.

— Rays running out of time to deal Matt Moore

— DOMINOES ARE FALLING, PEOPLE!

— Beltran finally on the move?

— Rays finally trade someone. No, not Archer. Or Moore. Or Odorizzi. Or Pearce.

— Seems like Josh Reddick is ready to join the Dodgers

— Don't think the Dodgers are done, folks

— It's been a while since we've heard Yankees rumors

— Connecting the Lucroy dots ...

— Giants gettin' jiggy with ... er, nevermind.

Solid move from San Francisco. Smith isn't the elite Miller/Chapman/Melancon type, but he gets late-inning outs. Cost wound up being pretty high, though. Smith is under club control through 2018.

— Well, this is kinda boring but makes sense

Both Quintana and Sale both have multiple years of club control left. White Sox absolutely HAVE to get those trades right. Cannot miss. No reason to rush and cut up their blueprint.

— Pretty much ...

— Jays still going after starting pitching

— So, the Rays might do nothing? Interesting approach.

Steve Pearce is a free agent after the season. He's not getting a qualifying offer. Pretty sure anything north of two peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches should be an "acceptable offer" at this point.

— Finally, something officially official

— Well, this is fun

— Tigers still looking for rotation help

— Hold-up in Bruce trade about prospects, not Bruce

— Not often that we see un-trades happen on deadline day

— Well, that's not good ...

— Angels reliever Joe Smith is in demand

MORE: Worst in-season trades for every AL team | Worst in-season trades for every NL team

— "Very motivated" Blue Jays are working hard

— Seems like Red Sox can ditch the Chris Sale dream

— Looks like the Mets are not messing around

— Puig's time in LA measured in minutes/hours?

— RED SOX TRADE FOR A LEFTY!!! No, not that one ...

— News out of Oakland ...

— Looks like Bruce-to-Mets is just about done. Defense-schmefense

— #PuigNotADodger?

— THINGS ARE HAPPENING!!!

— Shelby Miller is staying in Arizona

This isn't even remotely surprising, of course. The Diamondbacks gave up a ton to acquire Miller, who has been a major disappointment this season (7.14 ERA in 14 MLB starts, 5.09 ERA in three Triple-A starts). Even though he still obviously has a lot of potential and a solid MLB track record, there's zero chance Arizona could get anything even remotely resembling the package they gave to Atlanta. The only real option is to write off this season and hope he finds his old form at some point between now and spring training.

— So, about that McCann-back-to-Atlanta thing ...

Worth noting this is a deal that could easily happen in August. With that contract, McCann will easily pass through waivers, freeing the Yankees up to spend more time figuring out the money/prospect equation with the Braves.

— The truth about why Chris Sale might not get moved

— Steve Pearce seems like a good fit in Queens

Pearce might not be the world's greatest defensive player, but he can play well enough at a number of positions (corner OF, second, first and third), which makes him pretty valuable to a contender.  The OPS of .908 is pretty appealing, too. The Indians are interested, too.

— Braves really miss Brian McCann, apparently

McCann, you'll remember, is owed $17 million in 2017 and another $17 million in 2018. That's a lot for a 32-year-old catcher who still has good pop but has hit better than .236 just once in the past four years.

— "Very motivated" is one of our very favorite deadline-day phrases

— Lefty relievers will be traded, for sure. Probably

— MORE CHRIS SALE UPDATES, EVERYBODY!!!!

— Well, that's disappointing for teams looking for hitters

— Houston is engaging

— Deadline day in one two-word tweet ...

— Interesting look at the case for the A's holding onto Josh Reddick

— Tigers interested in Hellickson

— More news on the Tampa Bay front

— Dodgers still percolating

Pure speculation here, but what if the Dodgers turned this into a massive deal and tried to get two of Tampa Bay's young starters? Like Matt Moore and Jake Odorizzi, or Chris Archer and Drew Smyly? Lots of club control with those guys, and LA could then flip one of the two in the offseason after 2016 rotation crisis passes.

— Tigers out on Jonathan Lucroy

Hey Brewers, we want to acquire your catcher. You know, the guy who's arguably the best catcher in baseball. But we don't want to give you any of our pitching prospects. Oh, and nobody who's actually in the big leagues. You're cool with that, right?

— Mets almost got Jay Bruce at last year's deadline. Maybe this time?

— From a beat writer who would know ...

— CHRIS SALE NEWS, EVERYBODY!!!

— Lucroy update (there will be many of these today)

— Be careful what you see on Twitter, folks.

Also, SN alum Ken Rosenthal is just the best.

— Reds might move Cozart before Bruce?

— Jay Bruce talks still moving.

Let's start with a couple stories to help you get caught up.

— Even though Jonathan Lucroy invoked his no-trade veto power, the Indians have shown they're all-in for 2016

— Now that they've traded Andrew Miller, what other players might the Yankees move today

— The Orioles added a much-needed piece to their rotation, Wade Miley.

— The Cardinals picked up lefty reliever Zach Duke in a deal with the White Sox.

— Dealing for rental closer Mark Melancon could be risky for the Nationals if Felipe Rivero becomes a star in Pittsburgh
