Los Angeles rookie pitcher Kenta Maeda tied a Major League Baseball record during the Dodgers 4-1 win over Colorado on Saturday.

Maeda, who pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings Saturday, has allowed just one run through his first four career starts, which is tied for the fewest in the majors during that time frame since 1900. The 28-year-old Japanese pitcher also struck out eight batters against the Rockies, bringing his season total to 23 in 25 1/3 innings.

Maeda also carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, which was ultimately broken up on a single from Rockies second baseman D.J. LeMahieu with one out in the inning. Maeda (3-0) will face Jose Fernandez and the Marlins in his next start.

In other news, Washington Nationals starting pitcher Tanner Roark (2-2) tossed a gem. Washington's No. 5 starter tossed seven scoreless innings in a 2-0 victory over the Twins. The right-hander threw a career-high 15 strikeouts.

Player of the Day:

Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera put together a truly spectacular stat line in Saturday's 10-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. The 24-year-old went 3 for 4 with four runs scored, a home run, two RBI, two walks and two stolen bases. Now might be a good time to pick him up in your fantasy baseball league if someone else hasn't already.

Three things to know:

— Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Blake Snell enjoyed a stellar career debut, giving up one earned run in five innings with six strikeouts in a 3-2 loss against the Yankees. Snell took a no-decision. The last visiting pitcher with five-plus innings pitched and six-plus strikeouts in an MLB debut at Yankee Stadium was Luis Tiant on July 19, 1964.

— New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner hit a walk-off home run Saturday to beat the Rays 3-2. It's the Yankees' first walk-off win of the season (first since Aug. 24, 2015).

— Felix Hernandez passed Randy Johnson atop the Seattle Mariners all-time strikeouts list on Saturday when he struck out Los Angeles Angels outfielder Rafael Ortega in the first inning. The Angels got the 4-2 victory, however.

What's Next:

Rangers (10-8) at White Sox (12-6) 2:10 p.m. ET — Mat Latos (3-0, 0.49 ERA) heads to the mound as one of the surprises of the early season to take on Derek Holland (2-0, 2.70 ERA), who is in the midst of a strong comeback campaign himself. The White Sox won with a walk-off Saturday, so this series finale could produce fireworks.

Orioles (11-5) at Royals (11-6) 2:15 p.m. ET — Orioles third baseman Manny Machado is playing like a man possessed right now. Mark Trumbo has also been a pleasant surprise, but it remains to be seen how Baltimore's rotation will hold up all season. Kansas City needs more production out of Alex Gordon and Lorenzo Cain, but they are still finding ways to win.
