Here is something that probably won't be written very often this season: the Cubs lost a series at home.

But that's exactly what happened this weekend as the Rockies (7-5) took two of three from the Cubs (9-3) at Wrigley Field. Tyler Chatwood was the difference in Colorado's 2-0 win Sunday when he tossed seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts and only gave up two hits.

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado provided the offensive punch by bashing two solo home runs. After hitting 42 home runs last season, Arenado already has six this year.

The Cubs started the season 8-1 while scoring seven runs per game. But a series like this proves their bats can cool off at any time.

Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Jason Heyward are hitting a combined .206, but the pitching staff is leading the NL.

Player of the Day:

Diamondbacks outfielder Yasmany Tomas stung the Padres with venom in Sunday's 7-3 win. Tomas went 3 for 4 with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs scored. Tomas also had three hits Saturday. But before this weekend, he only had five hits in his first eight games.

Highlight:

Angels designated hitter Albert Pujols demolished his second home run of the season in the first inning off Kyle Gibson.

Three things to know:

— Bryce Harper's go-ahead home run in the top of the 10th inning against the Phillies was his fourth straight game with a home run (longest streak of his career). It was also his sixth straight game with a home run at Citizens Bank Park, which is the most by any player. The Nationals ultimately lost 3-2 Sunday when Freddy Galvis doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning.

— Both the Braves and Twins have won three straight games after starting the season 0-9. The Twins swept the Angels for the first time since 2009, and Atlanta swept the Marlins.

— Nationals closer Jonathan Papelbon must still like his old team because in the four games he's pitched against the Phillies since being traded to the Nationals, he's allowed eight runs in just 3 2/3 innings pitched.

What's Next:

Mets (5-6) at Phillies (6-7) 7:05 p.m. ET — The matchup between Mets ace Noah Syndergaard (1-0, 0.69 ERA) and Phillies young up-and-comer Jerad Eickhoff (1-1, 1.50 ERA) will be one to tune into. They have different approaches, but both guys have electric stuff.

Cubs (9-3) at Cardinals (7-5) 8 p.m. ET — Jason Heyward returns to St. Louis as the Cubs and Cardinals meet for the first time this season. St. Louis has won seven of nine after getting swept by Pittsburgh to open the season.
