After beating the Seattle Mariners 6-4 on Opening Day at T-Mobile Park, the Boston Red Sox are set to take on the team again on Friday night.

Hours before the game, the Red Sox announced the lineup for their second matchup of the series, and they've made a small change.

The lineup for Friday is:

  1. LF Jarren Duran
  2. 3B Rafael Devers
  3. SS Trevor Story
  4. 1B Triston Casas
  5. RF Tyler O'Neill
  6. DH Masataka Yoshida
  7. CF Ceddanne Rafaela
  8. 2B Enmanuel Valdez
  9. C Reese McGuire

McGuire enters the lineup at catcher in place of Connor Wong, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Opening Day.

Last season, McGuire hit .267 for Boston, driving in 16 RBIs and hitting one home run.

He'll be catching for Nick Pivetta, who bounced back and forth between the lineup to the bullpen in 2023, recording a 4.04 ERA in 38 appearances, his lowest full-season ERA since arriving in Boston midway through the 2020 season.
