The Los Angeles Dodgers announced ace Clayton Kershaw will start Tuesday's Game 4 against the Washington Nationals to help stave off postseason elimination.
Kershaw gave up three earned runs in just five innings in a Game 1 win facing off against Max Scherzer on Saturday. However, the Dodgers have dropped the last two games and now find themselves one loss away from elimination in the National League Division Series.

Despite missing nearly two months of the regular season with a back issue, Kershaw was electric and may have even received votes for NL Cy Young. He went 12-4 with a terrific 1.69 ERA and 0.72 WHIP during the regular season.
Kershaw will face off against Joe Ross, who battled injuries of his own during his breakout campaign. Ross finished the regular season 7-5 with a 3.43 ERA.
Though Kershaw is regarded as the best pitcher in this era, he 3-6 career in the postseason with a disappointing 4.65 ERA. Los Angeles needs that to change Tuesday.
