Alex Rodriguez will join Fox Sports' postseason baseball studio team, the network announced Sunday on its NFL pregame show with the Yankees DH making an appearance on the show.

The New York Daily News, citing unidentified MLB sources, reported that the sides finalized an agreement late Friday. A-Rod will likely make his debut Monday during the ALCS Game 3 pregame show. .

Rodriguez, suspended all last season by MLB for steroids use, will join a Fox studio crew that already includes former MLB player and manager Pete Rose, who remains on baseball's permanently ineligible list for gambling on baseball.

The Daily News originally reported in August that A-Rod's representatives were talking with Fox Sports about the possibility of his having a role in the network's postseason baseball coverage.

"If there was craziness with Alex this season this (his hiring by Fox) would not have happened," an unidentified MLB source with knowledge of the situation said. "But there was not a lot of 'noise' around him, which helped him from a TV standpoint."
