Astros slugger Evan Gattis hits home run with one hand image

If the Astros can glean any positives from Wednesday's blowout loss to the AL West-leading Rangers, it is Evan Gattis can still blast a home run with just one arm.

Trailing 14-1 in the eighth inning, Gattis swung at the first pitch he saw from Rangers reliever Andrew Faulkner. Before connecting on the 93 mph fastball, Gattis' bottom hand slipped off his bat, leaving just his right arm to push the ball over the left-field wall at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

The two-run homer was Gattis' 24th of the season and his third hit of the game.

Houston lost 14-3 and fell 1 1/2 games behind Texas in the American League West.
