Since coming over from Japan, Aoki sports a .287/.353/.380 slash line in four season with Brewers, Royals and Giants.

Aoki, 33, clearly has a knack for putting the ball in play, but injury concerns may be the chief reason the Giants decided not to exercise his $5.5 million option for 2016.

Aoki struggled with post-concussion symptoms after being hit in the head Aug. 9 by a pitch from Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta. He also missed a month halfway through the season with a fracture in his right fibula. In total, Aoki played in just 93 games last season after playing in no fewer that 132 his previous three seasons.
