The Marlins have identified closer Kenley Jansen as their top free-agent target this offseason, according to Fanragsports.com.
Jansen, 29, is fresh off a 47-save season with the Dodgers. The powerful right-hander also registered a 1.83 ERA and a career-low 0.67 WHIP, while making his first All-Star roster.

Though the Marlins are in desperate need of a starting pitcher — or three — it appears they are going to try to build a super bullpen first, considering a lack of depth and quality in the starting pitching market.
A.J. Ramos and Kyle Barraclough are already staples in the back end of the Marlins bullpen, but they may be better suited an inning ahead of where they were situated this season. Ramos, who closed games, would be one of the best set-up men in MLB should the Marlins nab Jansen.
Miami went 79-82 last season, which was good for third in the NL East. The Marlins are annually listed as the next breakout team, but injuries and inconsistent pitching have held them back.
