The Nationals won the first World Series in franchise history — and they did it without Bryce Harper.
Back in March, the MLB star left Washington and agreed to a record-breaking, 13-year $330 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.
During his introductory press conference with his new team, Harper accidentally flubbed his words and said he wanted to bring a title to D.C.

The Phillies did not make the postseason in 2019, finishing in fourth place in the NL East with an 81-81 record.
Earlier in October, Harper was asked if he was jealous of his former team making a postseason run without him.
"No. I'm so happy for them," Harper said to The Athletic. "You know how hard it is to get into the postseason and win games. For them to be able to put it together this year the way they have, it's an amazing thing."
