The Boston Red Sox have appeared to suffer a significant loss during Friday night's matchup with the Los Angeles Angels, as shortstop Trevor Stop left the game with an apparent shoulder injury.

In the fourth inning, Story dove for a Mike Trout ground ball, but as he was trying to bring it in, he landed on his left arm.

The shortstop remained on the ground, writhing in pain, for a while before eventually walking off of the field alongside a member of the training staff and Red Sox manager Alex Cora.

Pablo Reyes replaced Story after the injury.

Earlier in the night, Story's impact was felt when he made a fabulous play where he threw out Logan O'Hoppe with a spinning strike to first.
