We learned Saturday that Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout got engaged this week.

We also learned that the skies were quite friendly when he popped the question to girlfriend Jessica Cox. Trout's Instagram tells the story.

Of course the weather was clear for the big day, because Trout is a budding metorologist and . . . OK, maybe it was just a happy coincidence that the skywritten proposal had a clear blue backdrop.

Either way, congrats on the budding nuptials, Mike and Jessica.
