Miguel Cabrera left the Tigers' game against the Blue Jays on Saturday in the sixth inning after being hit on the hand by a pitch.
Blue Jays starter Aaron Sanchez's 93 mph fastball hit Cabrera's right hand. Tigers trainer Doug Teter checked out Cabrera and it initially appeared the 35-year-old veteran wanted to stay in the game, but he left for pinch runner Mikie Mahtook.

The Tigers announced later Saturday that Cabrera suffered a hand contusion, and X-rays were negative.
Cabrera was 2 for 2 off Sanchez. Those hits moved him past former White Sox great Luis Aparicio for second in career hits among Venezuelan-born players. With 2,678 hits, Cabrera trails only Omar Vizquel (2,877 hits) among those from Venezuela.
Cabrera played only 38 games in 2018 before a torn biceps sidelined him for the season. Although he hasn't topped .300 or 100 RBIs since 2016, the 11-time All-Star remains a dangerous presence for Detroit, batting third in the lineup.
