While other top American League contenders have added starting pitching this week, the Yankees have stayed quiet. And now they're down an arm, at least for one start.
Michael Pineda will be scratched from Thursday night's scheduled start with forearm tightness, the New York Post confirmed. WFAN first reported Pineda was injured but said his elbow was the problem.

Pineda was slated to face the Rangers, who acquired Phillies ace Cole Hamels on Wednesday night. That came days after the AL-best Royals added Johnny Cueto to their rotation and the Blue Jays swooped in to land David Price.
That's quite a bit of firepower potentially lined up against the Yankees for October, and even though they don't believe Pineda's issue is serious, it's difficult not to be concerned given his track record. The 26-year-old did not pitch in the majors in 2012 or 2013 because of shoulder problems and missed nearly four months last season. He's 9-7 with a 3.97 ERA in 19 starts for New York this season.
The Post reports Bryan Mitchell will get the ball in Pineda's place Thursday, making his 10th major league appearance and second start.
