Sweeps have been the rule in the opening round of the MLB postseason in recent years, and the Mets were six outs away from locking up a Division Series berth Wednesday. 

Then, Jackson Chourio happened — again. The rookie's second home run of Game 2 tied the score at 3-3 and Garrett Mitchell followed up with a two-out, two-run blast later in the eighth that kept Milwaukee alive to fight another day. 

The Brewers and Mets will face off  in a decisive Game 3 Thursday in Milwaukee, with Tobias Myers taking the ball for the home team and Jose Quintana getting the call for New York. The winner moves on to face Philadelphia on Saturday, the loser goes home for the winter.

It's just the second time in 12 series since the current wild card format began in 2022 that a series will go the full three games. The Mets were involved in the last Game 3, falling to the Padres in 2022.

The decisive Game 3 between the Mets and Brewers will begin at 7:08 p.m. ET from American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wis.

It had originally been scheduled to start at 8:38 p.m. ET but was moved up after the other three wild card series ended in sweeps.
