The Nationals have confirmed pitcher Max Scherzer suffered a broken nose before Tuesday's game against the Phillies.
Scherzer was hurt during batting practice when he fouled a ball off his face while attempting a bunt. He was taken to the locker room.
Max Scherzer took a ball to the face during pitchers BP — off his own bat while bunting — and went to the trainers room. Dave Martinez didn’t have an update on him during pregame, but it was right after it happened.
