The Dark Knight is on the mend.
Mets starter Matt Harvey was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday due to discomfort in his right shoulder, the team announced.
Harvey was seen by #Mets doctors and has been referred to Dr. Thompson in St. Louis for further examination set to take place on Thursday.

The team offered no timetable for his return. Harvey will miss at least one turn, Saturday vs. the Nationals. He will then have extra time to rest with the All-Star break coming next week.

Harvey gave no indication he was injured Monday despite allowing six runs (five earned) on 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings against the Marlins, ballooning his ERA to 4.86 and his WHIP to 1.47 over 92 2/3 innings this season. The 27-year-old right-hander is 4-10 this year; the 10 losses are the most among National League pitchers.
Right-handed pitcher Seth Lugo has been recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding roster move. Lugo made his major league debut Friday against the Cubs, pitching two scoreless innings in relief, before being optioned to Las Vegas.
It's not known who will replace Harvey in the Mets' rotation. Logan Verrett and Sean Gilmartin are among the candidates.
