The Marlins, who are in search of a replacement for manager Dan Jennings, have been given permission to speak with Phillies bench coach Larry Bowa about the position, according to Philly.com.

Bowa, who turns 70 in December, previously managed the Phillies and Brewers. He also played 16 seasons as a shortstop for the Phillies, Cubs and Mets. Bowa is expected to interview for the job on Monday, despite being one of only four coaches the Phillies asked to return next season.

The Marlins also plan on creating a metrics department, with Matt Arnold, the Rays' director of player personnel, likely to be interviewed.
