Jose Fernandez is headed to the disabled list.
The Marlins ace said he had some shoulder stiffness after his start on Friday in Atlanta and flew back to Miami to be examined on Saturday. The Miami Herald reported Fernandez has a biceps strain in his pitching arm and will go on the 15-day DL.

The #Marlins will place Fernandez on the 15-day DL and plan to call up Nicolino to start Tuesday against the #Redsox. Conley on Wednesday.

However, Fernandez thinks he'll be able to come back from the injury this season.

Fernandez returned to the Marlins in July after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2014. He’s 4-0 with a 2.53 ERA is 43 innings this season.
