You don't see this every day.

The Blue Jays had men on first and third with no outs in the top of the fourth inning Sunday against the Mariners. Toronto was up 4-3 with a great chance to extend its lead. Blue Jays second baseman Ryan Goins stepped to the plate and hit a grounder to first base. Then, chaos ensued.

Let's break this down.

Goins grounds out to first. One out. Ezequiel Carrera and Kevin Pillar both wind up at third base. Carrera has the right to third because he was there to start the play, so Pillar is tagged out. Two outs. Carrera then either steps or falls off third base somehow and is also tagged by Mariners catcher Mike Zunino. Three outs.

The 3-6-2 triple play is the first of its kind since 1955, per ESPN Stats and Info. Poor baserunning cost the Blue Jays as they ended up losing 6-5 in extra innings.
