Bullpen catchers aren’t the busiest guys during a three-game series, so what better way to kill time than by eating copious amounts of local cuisine?

Brewers bullpen catcher Marcus Hanel made the most out of his visit to Philadelphia by woofing down 18 cheesesteaks in a three-day span — a Citizens Bank Park record.

The previous record of 17 was posted on a whiteboard in the clubhouse, obviously to remind visiting teams that winning on the field isn’t everything. Which isn’t that hard this season against the lowly 27-53 Phillies.

Hanel, 43, never made it to the big show in his 14-year career, but he will have a chance to leave his mark on the game Thursday as he goes for the four-day cheesesteak record, which currently stands at 18.

It’s safe to say he can manage one more bite.
