The bad news for LSU: Game 2 was a historically bad defeat. No team has ever scored more runs, hit more homers or notched more hits than Florida did in its 24-4 romp.

The good news for LSU: That win only evened the series between the two teams following the Tigers' 4-3 Game 1 victory. And on Monday, the 2023 Men's College World Series will come down to a Game 3 to determine which team will leave Omaha as champion.
Florida was largely quiet in Game 1 against Ty Floyd, who struck out a record 17 batters in eight innings of work. But the offense roared to life in Game 2 with six home runs and 23 hits.
The Tigers might have an answer for that in Game 3. All eyes will be on ace Paul Skenes, who could make an appearance for the Tigers pitching on three days' rest after throwing more than 120 pitches in a win against Wake Forest. Additionally, the Tigers could turn to Thatcher Hurd, a top 2024 draft prospect who also pitched extensively in the win against the Demon Deacons on Thursday.

LSU coach Jay Johnson was noncommittal after Sunday's loss about whether Skenes would be available to pitch on Monday.
Florida will almost certainly counter with two-way star Jac Caglianone. The slugger, who leads NCAA Division I hitters with 33 home runs after launching two on Sunday, also leads all Florida starting pitchers with a 3.68 ERA in 73 1/3 innings of work this season. He has allowed only a run on seven hits and six walks across 10 1/3 innings in the College World Series.'
