In a day and age where baseballs are flying out of ballparks more than ever before, London got a true feel for what the game is becoming.
In Game 1 of the London Series between the Yankees and Red Sox, the game started off nutty and ended even nuttier.
The two teams combined to score 12 runs in the first inning and the game only got crazier from there in New York's eventual 17-13 win.
Five crazy stats from Game 1 of the London Series:
1. The Yankees and Red Sox combined to score 12 runs (six each) in the first inning Saturday. It is the first time since 1989 that has happened in a game (Blue Jays and Athletics) and just the sixth time since 1912.
The @Yankees and @RedSox have each scored six runs in the first inning of today's #LondonSeries game.

This is the 6th game since 1912 in which both teams scored six in the first, and first since June 23, 1989 (Toronto at Oakland).
2. The two teams also put up two more six-run frames in the game (one each) marking the first time since 1979 that two teams have each had multiple six-run frames in a single outing.
The #Yankees and #RedSox are the first pair of teams each with multiple six-plus run innings in a single game since the Phillies and the Cubs did so on May 17, 1979.

This is 3rd game in MLB history in which both starters allowed 6+ ER and didnt get out of 1st inning.
