Remember the name Louis Lappe.

California (West) defeated Texas (Southwest) 6-1 in the United States final of the Little League World Series thanks to the arm and bat of Lappe, punching its ticket to the LLWS championship.

The 6-foot-1 star for the El Segundo Little League team pitched 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball, racking up 10 strikeouts on the mound for California, and also added five RBIs at the dish. Lappe ripped a two-RBI single in the third to extend California's lead before blasting a three-run home run in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach. Lappe is now up to four dingers so far at the tournament.

Brody Brooks kicked off the offense for California with a leadoff home run in the first inning, his third of the tournament. He and Lappe have terrorized opposing pitchers at the competition, combining to go 5-for-6 against Texas.

California advances to the LLWS championship to face Curacao (Caribbean) on Sunday. Curacao defeated Chinese Taipei (Asia-Pacific) 2-0 earlier on Saturday in the international final.
