New York Yankees star outfielder Juan Soto is not in the lineup for the second game Saturday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
There's also a good chance Soto doesn't make an appearance at all during the series against the Dodgers at Yankee Stadium this weekend due to the forearm injury he's been dealing with.
Manager Aaron Boone told reporters ahead of Saturday night's game that they are leaning toward resting him for a few days.
“We’re leaning towards giving it a couple days,” Boone said. “So we’ll see how it goes today moving around, but it’s probably gonna be at least a couple days.”
Though Boone said before Friday night's game that Soto would be available for a pinch-hit appearance, but that proved to be a decoy.
The Yankees are going to be extra cautious with Soto. Even though the MRI came back clean on both his forearm and elbow, the Yankees are being cautious with the inflammation.
It may be a few days for the Yankees to get Soto back into the lineup, but there's a chance we won't seem this weekend.
