Over the weekend, video game publisher SCEA unveiled the first details on the next edition in the fantastic "MLB The Show" series. American League MVP Josh Donaldson of the Blue Jays has received the coveted cover spot for "MLB The Show 16," which we correctly predicted would happen last month.

Though vague, the first features to be described for the new game include "ShowTime," which is a sort-of "bullet time" for making plays in the field or at the plate; a number of improvements to Road to the Show career mode; enhancements to the graphics; and a tease of two new modes to be announced at a later date. Also noteworthy from the trailer is the ability for retractable roofs to close, the return of classic stadiums, and new player cards for Diamond Dynasty mode.

There will be three different editions of "MLB The Show 16": the standard $60 edition, a $70 "MVP" edition with bonus digital currency and card packs, and a $100 Digital Deluxe edition with even more in-game currency and packs. Scheduled to release on March 29, the game will be coming only to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, as development has ceased on the version for the portable Vita system.
