It was a week Josh Donaldson would love to forget. The reigning American League MVP was ejected for the second time in seven days in the first inning of the Blue Jays' Saturday matinee in Minnesota.

Last Sunday, Donaldson got the obvious heave-ho for his part in the epic, eighth-inning brawl his team had against the Rangers in Texas, drawing a $1,000 fine. His latest tossing was a lot more mysterious at first glance.

Donaldson lasted only one at-bat, in which he grounded out to Twins shortstop Eduardo Nunez. Apparently upset about the strike zone, he then exchanged some only semi-heated words with home plate umpire Toby Basner, who gave him a quick hook.

It ends a week in which Donaldson had only three hits in 16 at bats for a .188 average, keeping his number below .200 for May. He was coming off a much-needed good Friday night at Target Field, in which he delivered a two-run homer, his 10th of the season but only second of the month.

On the bright side, Donaldson did avoid a suspension from the league after getting into the Rougned Odor-Jose Batista-Matt Bush sparked melee.
