Jose Reyes' trial date on domestic abuse charge set for MLB opening day image

Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes will stand trial on domestic abuse charges April 4, the New York Daily News confirmed.

The trial will take place in Hawaii. The date coincides with the Rockies’ season opener at Arizona, although a plea agreement is possible.

Reyes, 32, was arrested in October and pleaded not guilty.

Police said an argument involving Reyes and his wife Katherine Ramirez turned physical and she required treatment at an area hospital.
