Gold Glover Jose Altuve has proved he has great range on the diamond, but on Tuesday the Astros second baseman showed it in a recording studio.

Altuve visited Phantom City Studio in Orlando to do a voiceover for the Cartoon Network's "Uncle Grandpa," the recording studio said (via the Houston Chronicle).

Audio engineer Eric Ortiz, who worked with Altuve, told the Chronicle the session took about an hour.

"He was great," said Ortiz, who couldn't reveal what sort of role Altuve played in the fantasy comedy series or when the episode would air.

Big names are pretty common visitors to Phantom City, Ortiz said, but because he's not much of a baseball fan he admitted to doing some homework before the three-time All-Star arrived.
