Jonathan Papelbon can't even get dressed without doing something stupid

If Jonathan Papelbon adjusted his behavior half as much as he adjusted his cup, he might find himself in a better position with teammates, fans (if he has any) and humanity in general.

But, alas, he continues to make asinine decisions.

After his altercation with Bryce Harper last season in which the closer choked the eventual NL MVP for not running out a pop-up, he was scheduled last week to attend a press conference to make public amends. Seems fair enough, right? Well, according to the Washington Post, the Nationals had to tell the 3-year-old ... err, sorry, 34-year-old closer to change clothes first.

"Later, he walked the Nats complex in a cut-off muscle T-shirt with arrows pointing to big biceps covered in jagged tattoos. The shirt said: “Obama Can’t Ban These Guns,” the Post article said. "Pap wanted to wear that shirt to the 'apology press conference' but they talked him out of it."

Really?

Political issues aside, might it have crossed Papelbon's mind that in the aftermath of an altercation that could have been considered physical assault had it happened between two strangers on the street, it might not be the best idea to flaunt his muscular physique?

But, after more than a decade worth of antics, it's pretty clear that Papelbon A) doesn't really care what people think about him and B) doesn't think at all, period.
