Cubs left-hander Jon Lester has a reputation as a solid pitcher, but his lack of hitting ability is also well-known. He has just four hits in his career (all last season), with no extra-base hits, and has struck out in 53 percent of his at-bats.
It won't count for anything because it's spring training, but Lester shocked everyone Wednesday afternoon by hitting a two-run home run in an exhibition against the Rockies. To the opposite field, no less.

Shortly after it happened, the Cubs made it into a GIF so it could live on the Internet forever.
To anyone who thought @JLester34's home run was an early April Fool's joke.

The Cubs' offense is already lethal (Kyle Schwarber followed Lester with a homer of his own). If the pitchers can be a threat to go deep, too . . . well, that's not even fair.
