“ESPN and John Kruk have mutually agreed to end our relationship at this time," ESPN said in a statement. "We’re thankful to John for his memorable contributions to our baseball coverage over the years — a run which included roles on our signature MLB franchises 'Sunday Night Baseball' and 'Baseball Tonight.' We wish John all the best.”

Kruk will not be replaced by a single person, said ESPN spokesman Ben Cafardo.

Instead, ESPN will spread Kruk's air time across a number of incumbent analysts, including Dallas Braden, Eduardo Perez, Doug Glanville, and Raul Ibanez among others.

Similar to its NFL coverage, ESPN has been making significant changes to its baseball talent lineup. The Worldwide Leader fired analyst Curt Schilling for his controversial Facebook posts about North Carolina's transgender bathroom law in April.

ESPN also promoted trailblazing female baseball analyst Jessica Mendoza.
