Joey Votto has a sense of humor about him and that was evident when he slid in a neat jab at certain Reds fans when he spoke to the media Tuesday.

When asked about what he did over the offseason, the Reds first baseman had this response, via WCPO:

“A lot of sleeping, a lot of walks. I went for a lot of walks. The Cincinnati fan base can be excited about the future of my performance. I’m rested and I practiced walking a lot.”

Last season Votto led the majors in walks with 143, and it's a practice he's used to. He led the majors in walks in 2013 (135) and the NL in 2012 (94) and 2011 (110).

Throughout those years, Reds fans have been critical of Votto's approach at the plate. Apparently getting on base isn't good enough for some in Cincinnati.
