Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom has been placed on the league's family emergency list due to complications with his infant son, MLB.com reported.

DeGrom left for Florida once he knew his wife, Stacey, was in labor, but was not placed on paternity leave. His son, Jaxon, was born Monday.

According to league rules, players must remain on the family medical emergency list for three to seven days, during which the team can add another player to the 25-man roster. If that player is gone for longer than seven days, he must be placed on the restricted list.

For now, third baseman Eric Campbell has been recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas.

DeGrom has also been battling a sore right lat muscle and speculation has grown that he might be placed on the disabled list.
