Could Corey Kluber head to the West Coast?
Fox Sports' Jon Morosi reported on Wednesday that the Indians and Padres are discussing a deal that would send the two-time Cy Young winner to San Diego. Morosi mentions that the Dodgers are still viewed as the favorites, but the inclusion of one or more of Austin Hedges, Manuel Margot and Hunter Renfroe could help the Padres' chances.
Outside of the MLB-ready talent, the Indians would likely require another top prospect from the Padres.

Kluber has been mentioned in trade rumors throughout the offseason, with several reports swirling that the Indians are interested in trading either him or fellow starting pitcher Trevor Bauer.
Morosi added that if Kluber does get traded, it is likely to be to a National League team.
Corey Kluber trade talks are most intense with NL clubs now, sources say. #Padres, #Dodgers, #Phillies, #Brewers, #Reds involved to varying degrees. @MLBNetwork @MLB

Kluber, who appears to still be in his prime, struck out 222 hitters in 215 innings in 2018 while walking a career low 1.4 hitters per nine innings. He won the ERA title in 2017, posting a 2.25 mark.
The Indians cruised to an AL Central title last season and have won the division each of the last three seasons, but will have to weigh whether dealing their ace will impact that streak in 2019.
