The iconic, yet controversial, Chief Wahoo logo will no longer be as heavily featured for the Indians as team owner Paul Dolan announced the franchise will move to the Block C as it’s primary logo, a distinction seemingly practiced since 2014 but made official Saturday.

"Clearly, we are using it more heavily than we are the Chief Wahoo logo,” Dolan said (via Cleveland.com), adding the team has "no plans to get rid of Chief Wahoo, it is part of our history and legacy."

Chief Wahoo, which was removed from the road cap in 2011 and its home batting helmet in 2013, will remain on the sleeve of the Indians' jerseys.

"We do have empathy for those who take issue with it,’ Dolan said in reference to those that find the Chief Wahoo character insensitive to Native Americans. “We have minimized the use of it and we'll continue to do what we think is appropriate."
