The Dodgers' three-year deal with Hisashi Iwakuma reportedly is on hold because of concerns about the pitcher's physical.

Asahi Digital first reported the news, saying the team has "postponed the acquisition" — but that doesn't mean it won't happen.

The Los Angeles Times reports it's "inaccurate" to say the deal is dead, but the team may be attempting to rework the three-year, $45 million contract agreed to last week.

The 34-year-old right-hander missed 2 1/2 months early this season with a lat strain and was sidelined for the first month of 2014 with a strained tendon in his right middle finger.

The steady veteran (3.17 ERA in 111 MLB games) was an All-Star for the Mariners in 2013, finishing third in AL Cy Young voting that year. He turned down a $15.6 million qualifying offer from Seattle to jump to Los Angeles this offseason.

Should the deal ultimately fall through, the Dodgers could turn to remaining free agent starters Mike Leake or Scott Kazmir to bolster a rotation in need of some help, according to Fox Sports.
