Goose Gossage's old-man rampage about the downfall of baseball continues.
The Hall of Fame pitcher on Tuesday engaged in another profanity-laced rant about the sport in the 21st century, this time blaming replay. He even incorporated a snarky remark about Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

“It’s a shame, it breaks my heart to see the direction this game is going," Gossage said, via the New York Post. "What, do we want a bunch of Cam Newtons running around?"
Gossage made headlines last week when he said "nerds" and the "Bat Flip Generation" were crippling the game. Despite the firestorm, and despite being called into a meeting with Yankees general manager Brian Cashman and manager Joe Girardi, Gossage said he stands by his words because of his love of the game.
SPECTOR: Gossage can't speak for Latino players
“They can say all they want to about ‘old school’ and the game has passed me by,’’ the 64-year-old Gossage said. “Let me tell you something: The game has not passed me by.”
Gossage, a known adversary of baseball's replay system overhaul and the pace-of-play changes that went into effect last season, doubled down on his stance that the decision to eliminate human error from the game was a huge mistake.
“No manager can run on the field anymore and kick dirt on the umpire,’’ Gossage said. “That was exciting. That was part of the game. That woke everybody up and everybody loved it. Now you sit there for five minutes and wait for a f—ing replay. And half the time, you can’t even tell.
“Who’s died in the last 100 years because of a bad call? They say, ‘Well, they lost a World Series (likely referring to the '85 Cardinals) and the kid lost his perfect game (referring to Armando Galarraga in 2010).’ I said, ‘Who died?’ Leave the human element in the game. You cannot take the human element out of baseball because it is the fabric of the game.”
