Blue Jays left-hander Francisco Liriano, who suffered a concussion in Game 2 of the ALDS when he was hit in the head by a line drive, is eligible and expected to return for Game 2 of the ALCS on Saturday in Cleveland, the Toronto Star reported.

Liriano's bullpen session Thursday went well, according to the Jays.

He was placed on the seven-day disabled list after being struck in the back of the head by Ranger Carlos Gomez's line drive that was clocked at 102 mph off the bat, so the earliest he can be activated is Saturday.

That means the Blue Jays will play Game 1 against the Indians with 24 players, one shy of the roster limit.

Liriano appeared in 10 games this season for Toronto after starting the year with the Pirates. For the season, he was 8-13 with a 4.59 ERA, but he is 2-2 with a 2.92 ERA for the Jays.
