As the showcase event of one of the nation's four major sports, the World Series is a pretty big deal.
For a few brief minutes, viewers couldn't see the Game 1 action between the Mets and Royals on Tuesday night. Fox lost power to a broadcast truck during the fourth inning. The glitch even stopped folks from streaming the game online. The outage also caused a brief delay in the game,

Fox eventually switched to its international broadcast, which had remained on air, with Matt Vasgersian and John Smoltz on the call. The network team of Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci later took over that production.
Things finally returned to normal after two innings of chaos.
