Fox has unveiled its first trailer for a new series about the fictional first woman to play in the major leagues.

"Pitch" is produced with the cooperation of Major League Baseball so, unlike many fictional baseball productions, it features an actual team — the Padres — as well as scenes at San Diego's Petco Park.

Despite some cheesy dialogue — "I'm a robot in cleats and I'm malfunctioning!" — and an apparent slant toward melodrama, "Pitch" certainly has potential. But it's probably best to consider it an unproven prospect for now.

The show, which stars Kylie Bunbury, Dan Lauria and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, is set to debut during the fall TV season.
