Kirin Brewery of Japan has kept its promise, giving an ex-MLB player a year's supply of beer and $10,000 after his home run hit the beer company's sign last month.
Brandon Laird, who played for the Astros and Yankees, is with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in Japan's Pacific League. His solo homer against the Orix Buffaloes on May 10 hit the Kirin Beer sign over left-field fence, which meant Laird earned a year's worth of beer and the hefty prize money from the brewery.

Last month, Laird said he wasn't going to drink the beer, but instead would give it his teammates at practice. The $10,000 reportedly will go to a new house in Arizona.
