Orsillo, 46, will replace Dick Enberg, who is retiring after the 2016 season. Orsillo's deal with the Padres will allow him to work some games for Fox before transitioning into Enberg’s lead role.
The Red Sox paid tribute to Orsillo on Sunday, acknowledging his popularity after 15 seasons with the club.
